THE SOUL SPROUT EXPERIENCE
(This sounds like a rave, but it’s not, we promise.)
Our philosophy focuses on treating the full system - “the root and the branch”. Every ailment has several possible “TCM diagnostic patterns'' and we look at all basic functions of the body to see which pattern your symptoms align with. This tells us which organ systems to focus on and what path to follow for your unique treatment.
FOR OUR FIRST TIMERS
Before your first appointment, you’ll receive a welcome email, where you’ll be routed to complete your health history and a consent form. Next up? Get dressed. We recommend that you wear loose, comfortable clothing for your treatment, so that your practitioner has easy access to your acupuncture points.
We also ask that you arrive on time for your appointment. You expected us to say “early”, but due to COVID, we’re encouraging a quick transition from check-in to your treatment room. During your first visit we’ll speak comprehensively about your health, including your medical history, diet and digestion, lifestyle, sleeping patterns, stress levels, wellness goals, and emotional state. You can ask all the questions, and after you and your provider are well-acquainted, we’ll begin your very first treatment.
INSURANCE POLICY
Our Soul Sprout practitioners exist as out of network providers for all insurance companies. We encourage you to call your carrier and ask about your out of network benefits. We will happily provide a SuperBill after your treatments, for submission to your insurance company.
CANCELATION POLICY
If you need to cancel your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible. You will be charged for any appointment canceled with less than 24 hours notice. We respect your time and appreciate you respecting ours in return.
Oh! Pro tip - be sure to use the restroom first.
Frequently asked questions

Most people who have had acupuncture would describe it as virtually painless or far less painful than plucking out a hair. We use very fine, surgical-steel disposable needles that do not draw blood and are solid, not hollow. The needles are about as thin as a strand of hair. When inserted, a needle catches what we call the “Qi” - the body’s energy flow. As a result, you may experience a dull sensation or tingling. These sensations will subside once the needles are removed.
-
In general, people tend to feel relaxed after an acupuncture treatment. And the days following might even mean better sleep, digestion, and overall sense of well-being. Acupuncture does have a cumulative effect, so your healing experience is usually not one and done. We will work with you to create a treatment plan that addresses your specific problem, with the expectation that you will see longer lasting results as you work through your custom treatment plan. Worry not, you’re not on the forever plan - over time treatments will regulate to a pace of about once per month.
-
The initial treatment will take about 60 to 90 minutes. Subsequent treatments take between 45 minutes and 1 hour depending on your condition and where you are in your wellness journey. During the sessions, once the needles have been inserted, you will rest for 25-30 minutes.

Most of our services consist of an introductory consultation followed by an initial treatment when you first visit us. This first appointment costs $135 and lasts 90 minutes. After the first appointment, follow-up treatments are charged by service. You can find more information about our prices on our individual Service pages.

Yes! Our staff is fully-licensed and quite impressively educated if we do say so ourselves. Head over to our About page to learn more about our practitioners, or reach out to us directly if you have more specific questions about our qualifications.

There are a few ways to help yourself through the fear if it’s a serious concern for you.
First off, know that the fear is common and preparing properly for the appointment will help. Eat something light about 2 hours before your appointment. Skip the coffee (ugh, we know!). The last thing you need is caffeine driven jitters and increased anxiety. Communicate with us about your fear. We will do everything we can to help you through it and ensure this is a safe and comfortable experience for you.
If you’re still not a big fan of the acupuncture experience, there are a few alternative solutions, like cupping and acupatching, that provide similar benefits and relief as acupuncture, but without the needles!

We do not reuse acupuncture needles, and no one ever should! All needles are responsibly disposed of via Sharps Disposal Containers after their use. Acupuncturists use single-use, sterile, stainless-steel needles to ensure your complete safety.
